Killaraght Community Education Course Report

 

Basic Computers, Smartphones and the Internet

In April, 2026 CAIT Roscomáin ran weekly classes in Basic Computers, the Internet and Smartphones for Killaraght Community Centre.  We held 7 x 2 hour classes for 9 learners.

 

Learners used CAIT Roscomáin laptops as well as their own smart phones.  Killaraght Community Centre provided broadband and a Smart TV for viewing slides.  The course used the Vodafone HiDigital online platform and it was recommended that learners complete each module in their own time.  GRETB provided funding for the course.

Attendance was excellent.  6 learners completed evaluation forms. Each learner was given a full set of class notes that covered all aspects of the course.  Learners also completed exercises on Basic IT concepts.  Learners work was saved on the laptops, in the cloud and on learners’ individual devices.

Learners in Killaraght expressed an interest in doing more classes later this year or early next year.
